Best of Spiti Valley 5Nights 6Days

OVERVIEW

Spiti Valley, located in the northeastern part of Himachal Pradesh, India, is a captivating cold desert mountain region known for its picturesque landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The name "Spiti" translates to "Middle Land," signifying its location between Tibet and India.

With a history dating back centuries, Spiti and Lahaul are home to some of the oldest Buddhist monasteries, offering a glimpse into ancient traditions and spirituality. The valley boasts breathtaking scenery, making it a prime destination for stargazing and astrophotography enthusiasts. It is renowned as India's premier location for observing the night sky, providing a heavenly experience for astro photographers.

Accessing the beautiful valley can be done via two routes: the Shimla-Kinnaur Highway, accessible year-round, and the Manali-Rohtang Pass route, which opens only during the summer months when Rohtang Pass becomes accessible. Rohtang Pass serves as the link between Kullu Valley and Lahaul-Spiti Valley, albeit with treacherous curves and challenging road conditions, making it an ideal choice for adventurous road trips.

The best time to visit Spiti Valley is from June to September when both routes are open, and the snow has melted, revealing the stunning landscapes ranging from snow-covered mountains to vast brown cold deserts.

Despite its increasing popularity, Spiti still holds many unexplored and picturesque destinations waiting to be discovered.
